Laâyoune’s surroundings :

The Tour Operators organise visits from the city to the four corners of the area. The nearest are those which lead to Sabaks (salted lakes) Tazgha and Tah, and to the Dunes which surround Laâyoune. Further, after 110 km, the oasis Lemsid represents a half-day trip.

Sites in north of Laâyoune and of Saguia el Hamra:

Naylat : situated at around 200 km north of Laâyoune, this area is characterised by beautiful beaches, by the beauty Oued Knefis, where we can practice water sports, and finally by its natural farmers.

Sabkhat Tazgha : a big and vast salt mine, considered as one of the biggest in the world, it is a landscape with an extremely natural beauty.

Tarfaya Beach : it distinguishes by the monument of Casamar (sea house); it is the counter built by the english Mackenzie which was taken and integrated by the sultan My Hassan the 1st to the end of the 19th century. The area of its desert beaches, the silence that rules and the natural beauty are impressive. Its coasts have an advantage for the fishing lovers. All these are at only 107 km north from Laâyoune.

Sabhat Tah : this beautiful landscape is particular by its vastness. It is situated at 25 km from the Atlantic Ocean. The monument Tah is nearby.

Sabkhat Oum Dbaa: in this beautiful landscape cinematography societies fond their happiness.

Tourist sites at south if Laâyoune :
Lamsid : oasis characterised by freshness of its clime, fresh waters and palm trees. It is situated at 18 km south-east of Laâyoune on the road of Smara.


Sand dunes : they lay on a surface of 20 km from Lâyoune . They are known by well-being in the treatment of rheumatism. Many visitors take beneficial treatments.

Layoune beach and the commercial harbour : situated at 20 km south of Laâyoune on the road of Boujdour.
The town Dakhla : situated at 524 km south of Laâyoune, Dekhla is a fishing port of excellence.
