Agadir is a privileged destination for those who search the sun in winter. With its beautiful sand beach, its 300 days with sun and its important hotel capacity (the quarter of the hotel capacity in Morocco, or 20 000 beds), the city is with no doubt the sole real SPA in Morocco.

Maritime stage on the road of Afrique, centre for the caravans at the Sahara’s doors, the harbour Agadir become, from its establishment in 1503 a commercial fortress, where the traders, the militaries and the marines fight.

Capital of Souss, election land and residence of the redoubtable dynasty of the Saadians, Agair begin to decline in 1760: the sultan Mohammed ben Abdallah, wanted to punish Agadir decided to close the harbour to the European traffic and established the concurrent harbour Essaouira.

Two centuries later in 1960 it took place the strong earthquake which destroyed it.
Presently, Agadir is a modern city, touristic, ideal point of departure for the trips to south.
The commercial and maritime activity (first fishing harbour in the country) and equally flourishing confirm its role as regional capital.

Agadir is first of all a holidays place. We can appreciate the sun and the temperature which is relatively constant: the maximal is 27 degrees in August and 20 degrees in January and the minimal temperature is 18 degrees in August and 7 degrees in January. The water temperature varies around 22 degrees. Sportive city, Agadir offers equally multiple aquatic activities or on the land: golf, tennis, etc...
We can add a French modern thalasso-therapy centre, an important hotel infrastructure and the picture will be complete.

If you stay more than a week in Agadir, don’t hesitate to take a tour, the city is the ideal point of departure for the Moroccan South. Happy holidays.
