Located in the north-west of the African continent, between 21 and 36 degrees north latitude, with a surface of 710 850 km², this Magrebian country is bordered at west by east and south east by Algeria, at south by Mauritania, at west by the Atlantic Ocean and at north by the Mediterranean Sea.
Frontiers
This country has the privilege of an opening to the Atlantic Ocean at west, with a length of its coasts of 2934 km, and on the other side to the Mediterranean Sea at north with a length of 512 km. This vast territory shares its frontiers with Algeria and at south with Mauritania.

Relief
-- the middle Atlas, with a peak of 3354m (BOU NACEUR), the high Atlas that lies on 750 km from the Atlantic Ocean to the sources of Moulouya. Here we can find the tallest peak of north Africa: the mountain Djebel Toukball (4165m).
- - at south the Anti-Atlas is a mountain barrier less tall
- - near Atlas the occidental Morocco is a vast plateau
- - at a plateau of 1300 m altitude delimits Morocco of Algeria
- - the Sahara desert begins at south of the country
- - at north, the mountains Rif mountain separated of Atlas by the corridor Thaza which extends to the Mediterranean Sea.

Natural resources
Morocco has important natural resources: it is the third provider and first exporter in the world of phosphates (around 20 mil. tones). The territory is also rich in iron and non-ferrous minerals in the mountains: barite (370 000 tones), plumb, magnesium, cobalt, copper, antimony, molybdenum, fluorine.
Actually, there are in prospecting oilfields in the off-shore area between Casablanca and Safi.
